Japanese Photography & Design Browse All Titles

For over ten years Maggs has been dealing in the field of Japanese photo-books, as well as items relating to post-War Japanese graphic design. We can claim to be amongst the leading experts in this field, having built and sold a number of important collections to private collectors and various national and international institutions. We have a large stock of books & magazines from both the pre-war and the post-war period covering many fields of artistic expression in Japan.

While most dealers in the West have tended to concentrate on photographers from the Provoke and VIVO schools we feel that there are equally exciting and challenging photographers in the preceding as well as the following periods.

We have strong connections with book-dealers and collectors in Japan which enables us to cater to the specific needs of our clients within a relatively short timeframe. Only a very small number of titles are currently listed online, but interested customers should email titus@maggs.com for more information about our current stock.
