HEPWORTH, Barbara (1903-1975). Sculptor.
Typed Letter Signed ("Barbara Hepworth") to the writer, poet and translator Edouard Roditi, returning an article [not present] which she has corrected.
1 page 4to, Trewyn Studio, St. Ives, 4 December 1958.
". . . I do seem to have queried rather more sentences than I had originally intended. The ones I did ask you to delete are the ones I cannot really identify as being my own language & thoughts. . . perhaps you will agree with me that their deletion does not materially alter the argument . . . The few other things I crossed out as being unconnected or perhaps hurtful."
In an autograph postscript, she adds, "I feel a bit anxious about what I have done to your script. BH".
The "script" in question was most likely Roditi's interview with Barbara Hepworth which was eventually included in his book Dialogues on Art .
