A fascinating account of a chance voyage undertaken with the object of disposing of his vessel "too large and too sharp" for the Isle of France, which took the author through the Indian Ocean to Bengal, and to Mocha on his return journey. The account is perceptive and detailed, especially in regard to the native peoples he encountered, with a particular focus on their trade.
