Five coloured caricatures signed by subjects on mounted card, and one facsimile note also mounted on card. First edition. 30cm by 40 cm. Number 58 of 900 copies. Portfolio of original quarter vellum over gilt-lettered grey boards, certificate of limitation on inside front board. [London, Leadlay Ltd.].

One of one hundred copies signed by the subjects of the caricatures. The facsimile is a note by the author. The caricatures are depictions of Noel Coward, Peggy Wood as "Sari Linden", George Metaxa as "Carl Linden", Ivy St. Helier as "Manon" and Charles B. Cochran. The boards of the Portfolio are slightly yellowing with age and dust, but otherwise a fine copy.

Bitter Sweet is an Operetta written by Noel Coward and lasted three years on the West End. The operetta is set in the 19th century and tells the story of a young woman eloping with her music teacher. The caricatures in this portfolio depict the actors of the West End production.
