Folio (387 x 253 mm); letterpress title-page printed red and black, engraved frontispiece, 5 unsigned folding engraved maps: the world and four continents. A very good, large-paper, copy. Bookplates of John Peyto Verney and Robert John Verney, both Lord Willoughby de Broke, probably the 15th and 17th of that title. Contemporary speckled calf, five raised bands and red morocco label to spine. Extremities rubbed, headcap missing, joints split but binding still holding. London : Edward Brewster (et al.),

The five maps are generally (but probably incorrectly) attributed to Robert Morden (d. 1703), based on an early advertisement announcing this edition.

The map of America gives an interesting delineation of the western part of North America, with the Mississippi flowing into the Gulf of Mexico through Texas, California depicted as an island, a legendary inland sea, ‘The Great Lake of Thongo or Thoya’, and a long curved imaginary coastline north from California.
