Sir Wilfred Thomas Grenfell was a medical missionary and social reformer who served on the Mission to Deep Sea Fisherman, outfitting their first hospital ship. "In 1892, as superintendent of the mission, he inaugurated a floating medical service for the fishing communities of northern Newfoundland, coastal Labrador, and the Quebec north shore." (ODNB). This, his autobiography, also covers his young life and medical training at the London Hospital.
