Fisher was the assistant surgeon aboard the Hecla during this first of Parry's Arctic expeditions. "This voyage was for the discovery of the North West Passage, and penetrated through Barrow's Strait as far as Melville Island" - Lande. The maps are "A Chart of the Discoveries of H.M.S. Hecla & Griper...being on a Voyage to Discover a N.W. Passage" and "A Map of the Route of the Expedition across Melville Island."

 

With detailed notes on and illustrations of the polar bear, walrus and musk-ox, as well as additional natural history content.
