Scarce. Portuguese printing of Albemarle's report of Admiral Pocock's capture of Havana in July 1762. Despite his inexperience, Albemarle was put in charge of military operations, and decided to attack the fortress of El Moro, which dominates the mouth of the harbour, instead of the city itself. After four days a mine was "sprung under a seaward bastion of El Morro, the breach was stormed and the fortress taken. Havana itself was now bombarded and, after the arrival of American reinforcements, was completely surrounded. The city surrendered on 13 August" (DNB).
