Hilferding's first important monograph, the classic long-form rebuttal to Böhm-Bawerk's Zum Abschluss des Marxschen Systems (1896), considered one of the most important discussions of Marx's economic theories. Though undated, it cannot have been published before 1919 as an advertisement refers to 'the late Karl Liebknecht'.
