First edition. 8vo. xiii, [1], 301, [1] pp. Original blue cloth, spine lettered in gilt, dust jacket (faint partial strip of offsetting to endpapers, neat ownership inscription to front free endpaper and title, otherwise internally clean and unmarked; slight lean to spine, some trivial shelf wear to extremities of jacket, faint marking to spine panel, still an excellent copy overall). London, Macmillan & Co. Ltd.

A collection bringing together Harrod's principal early career articles, particularly focusing on the subjects of imperfect competition and the the theory of the firm. 'Harrod was an originator of the marginal revenue curve, clarified the relation between short-period and long-period cost curves, and helped to develop the theory of pricing and output decisions of imperfectly competitive producers, that is, those that are in some degree 'price-making'. His papers on these topics were reprinted in Economic Essays' (ODNB).

Ownership inscription of 'A. D. Knox', reader in economics at the London School of Economics, to front free endpaper and title page.
