A series of lectures by the Nobel prize-winning neurophysiologist Sir John Eccles regarding what he describes as "the great and mysterious problems" presently beyond science and which "may be, in part, forever beyond science", particularly focusing on the human brain and the brain-mind problem. The lectures draw heavily on Eccles's book The Self and Its Brain co-authored with the philosopher Karl Popper and published two years earlier.
