Translated by Rolf A. George. First edition in English. 8vo. xxvi, 364 pp. Original red cloth, spine lettered in gilt, dust jacket (spine panel very slightly faded, otherwise an excellent copy). Berkeley, University of California Press.

The first English translation of the author's first book, a central document of analytical philosophy and crucial to the formation of 'logical positivism', originally published in German in 1928 under the title Der logische Aufbaau der Welt.

Rudolf Carnap (1891-1970) is considered one of the major philosophers of the Vienna Circle; The Logical Construction of the World, is his 'most detailed and influential statement of a project in general epistemology' (Richardson, p. 1), and drew inspiration from Russell and Whitehead's Principia Mathematica.
