Lacks the general title page, as advised in the "Avis aux Relieurs" this has been discarded, "... par ceux qui ne veulent pas se donner la collection entiere des pièces qui vont suivre successivement." But there were to be no further parts published in this form, although the series evidently relates to Tielke's Beyträge zur Krieg-Kunst... of 1775 and may just be a French translation of the first section of it. The present work is a detailed analysis of Maxen demonstrating Tielke's "... sophisticated discussion of the relation of ground to tactics..." [Houlding Fit for Service... p.235]
