Inner hinges slightly tender, some light browning, some notes in Tylden's hand to the rear endpapers, clipping of Lady Butler's painting of Tel-el-Kebir mounted on the rear pastedown, otherwise very good in the original maroon cloth, slightly worn, corners bumped. viii, 288pp. Macmillan and Co, Ltd.,

Scarce. The first two hundred pages cover Africa (Zulu War), the final two chapters Egypt (Tel-el-Kebir). Armorial bookplate to the front pastedown of Major General James Cecil Dalton who served in the Afghan Campaign of 1880 and was later Colonel Commandant RA.
