Kock was a Danish sailor who was serving on the Kronborg when the Königsberg was trapped in the Rufiji Delta. After the sinking of the German raider, he aided in the salvage of the guns &c. from the ship and was then involved in running supplies to von Lettow-Vorbeck's men.

Scarce, particularly so in the dust-jacket. Perhaps the story of a Dane in the employ of the Germans in an African "side-show" during the Great War did not have great appeal to the British reading public during the early years of WWII. It is only too easy to imagine a short print run, rapidly followed by remaindering, or perhaps direct to pulping. Unfortunate, as this is a fascinating story, effectively told.
