A presentation copy, inscribed on the front free endpaper 'Signed for my friend, neighbour, benefactor and partly satisfied customer, John and for his ever-loving wife and my dearly loved Ann, Bob', also signed on the title page 'Robert Watson-Watt'. A personal account by the man who made radar possible, probably saving Britain from being bombed into submission in the second world war. Although other scientists had been working on the same lines, it was Watson-Watt who made it happen.

Both hinges weak, the dust jacket rubbed and chipped, short tear to the upper cover., small newspaper clipping announcing the author's third marriage pasted above the inscription.
