First edition. 8vo., original wrappers. Dublin, New Island Books.

An important biography of the Irish poet and political activist Charles Donnelly (1914-1937) who fought and died for the republican cause in the Spanish Civil War.

The author's third book and first work of non-fiction, though exceedingly scarce as the book was withdrawn after an action bought by the subject's family against the publishers. Also contains a selection of fourteen poems by Donnelly. A fine copy.
