The story of an expedition led by MacMillan, a veteran Arctic explorer, to find and map Crocker Island, reported to have been seen from the air by Robert Peary. It was in fact a hoax, but the expedition did map Axel Heiberg and the Parry Islands, took a large number of photographs, and did important research on the native peoples and natural habitat of the region.

Cloth a little worn, the back dull and with a small stain, the text a trifle browned, the inner joints weak.
