A presentation copy, inscribed twice to a husband and wife, first on the front free endpaper 'a Marie-Louise Trilling son Ami Serge Lifar', beside a full page ink and coloured crayons drawing of a dancer, the pose reminiscent of Roland Petit's ballet 'Le Jeune Homme et la Mort', the second inscription on the half title page 'A Monsieur Ossia Trilling Ami très cher des Arts - ces Pensées et leurs applications de la France et du Ballet Mondial avec l'amitié de Serge Lifar 2 Mai 58'.'
