First edition, first impression. 8vo. Original black cloth, front cover centrally foil-stamped with a silver revolver in front of a metallic-red rose, spine lettered in silver and metallic-red, dust jacket designed by Richard Chopping. London, Jonathan Cape.

A scarce variant issue dust jacket, possibly a proof issue, without the decorative clips to the inner flaps, consistent with dust jackets paired with proof copies of Ian Fleming's Bond books. "No proof dust-jacket was issued [for From Russia With Love]. A very few uncut 'regular' jackets may have been paired with proof copies as a trial." (Gilbert, p. 159).

A very good copy, some rubbing to extremities, and a few short tears, to front cover, and flap.
