First and only edition. 18 colour lithograph maps. Imperial folio measuring ca. 43x52cm. Original flexible boards, stapled, minor wear to spine but overall in very good condition. Original silver gelatine print showing an US air-force crew cello-taped to first leaf. Ms. presentation note To Capt. John Rater (?). [iv](table of contents; map history, index map, map legend)ff. No place, no date, [but China, possibly Kunming],
"Subject map covers area from 109° to 125° East and from 32° to 42° North. It is an adjunct project of the Armoured Force Center's ARMORAIDOR project, and is designed to serve as a base map for Armoraidor surveys of terrain and soil trafficability... Communications concerning errata, addenda, or corrigenda should be addressed to Chief, Map Section, Intelligence Division, Office of Strategic Services, APO 627." (Map History). This atlas was compiled and drafted by Map Section SIGIS Cartographic Units, China Theatre. It is likely to have been drafted and printed in Kunming, where a unit of American troops were based in order to protect Nationalist interests in China. Very rare. Only one copy in OCLC.
