Hand-coloured and black-and-white illustrations throughout by Jack B. Yeats. 84 monthly numbers, each one of 300 copies, all published. First to Seventh Years, comprising a complete set of the First Series. Each number a single Large 8vo. folded sheet of 4 pages. Dundrum, The Dun Emer Press (first number only) and The Cuala Press. June 1908 to May 1913.


This first series was edited by Elizabeth Corbet Yeats and Jack Yeats also writes under the guises of 'R.E. MacGowan' and 'Wolfe Tone MacGowan'. Other contributors include John Masefield, James Stephens and Lady Gregory. The second and third series edited by W. B. Yeats were published much later.

Minor spotting to some issues, otherwise a fine set, loose as issued, in a quarter green leather solander box, lettered in gilt, with the label of the Dublin bookseller Hodges Figgis & Co.
