Matsunaga Yasuzaemon (1875-1971) was the president of the Toho Electric Power Company and also known as the King of Electricity. His hobbies included art collecting, the tea ceremony, and mountaineering. The present book is illustrated throughout with photographic plates recording climbing parties in the Japan Alps. He had formed a mountaineering club (Shinaikai) inside his company but he was also a member of the Keio University Camera Club, his alma mater (Matsunaga entered Keio University aged 15 . There is no indication as to the print-run of this item but it appears to have been printed in a small edition and was distributed only through the Toho Electric Power Company as well as the the Shinaikai Mountaineering Club. Only one copy in OCLC (National Diet Library).
