First edition. 2vols. Numerous collotype plates. Small folio, measuring 31x21cm. Original Japanese-style binding with printed title-slips in original chitsu (minor wear). Overall in very good condition. Osaka, Hakubundo, dated: Taisho 15,

On September 22nd and 23rd, 1925 a sencha meeting was held at the Osaka Arts Club (Osaka Bijutsu Kurabu) and the private residence of a Mr. Uno. The Shoryusha which was originally called Meikyusha, was an Antique dealers association which had been founded in Osaka in 1876.  Inoue Kumataro, who was a member of Shoryusha was chosen to compile this record of the events which was given a higher level of authenticity by being largely illustrated throughout with collotype plates. They feature both individual tea utensils, landscape paintings, calligraphy, as well as the interior of tea-rooms used during the events. Vol. 2 includes a large section on bronze vessels. The present publication is printed in an unusually large format allowing for more detailed rendition of the objects. Very rare. Only one copy in OCLC (National Diet Library).
