Hikogoro Fujii (dates unknown) visited Peking just after the Boxer rebellion. This album provides a good survey of historical and contemporary architectural views and tourist destinations of Northern China as well as Chinese customs, incl. traditional theatre, Tartar and Chinese women, funeral rites, musical entertainment, and beggars. It also includes 37 portraits of the most important political figures in the late Qing dynasty. The final leaf of text is entitled "Saihan yokoku [Reprint Notice]" which announces that a second enlarged edition is due to be published in Peking in May of the following year and it includes rates for advertising.
