Bishop Wiliam Poynter, Apostolic Vicar of the London District objected to various aspects of Gandolphy’s
writings. After an examination in Rome the complete set of sermons [See next item], together with his
Liturgy, or a Book of Common Prayer, was placed on the Index Librorum Prohibitorum in 1818.
