A pretty set. The life of Pope takes up half of volume I. Elias de Joncourt (1697-1763) was a Dutch cleric and writer, who translated widely from the English. The earlier 6-volume edition of 1754 was arranged according to date of publication, and based on Warburton's edition in England, but here allied topics have been grouped together. The list of contents of volume 3 is bound in volume 7.

Provenance: Fredrik Wilhelm Baron von Ehrenheim's (1753-1828), Swedish statesman, his signature on title.
