An elaborate almost full-page ornamental woodcut on title-page (by Jost Amman?), large woodcut arms of the dedicatee, six large ornamental woodcut printer's devices (two of them signed by Jost Amman), numerous ornamental woodcut initials and head-pieces.4 parts in one vol. Thick folio. Contemporary German blind-panelled pigskin, large arabesque ornament in centre of sides, ornamental roll-tooled borders, vellum ties (sides a little rubbed).
First German edition of the complete works of Natta, beautifully printed and bound in an excellent pigskin binding. The author was active in the first half of the 16th century and came from a long line of lawyers. He studied law at Pavia under Decius and Jason de Mayno, and later practised there himself.
