Printer's woodcut device on title-page (Renouard 1047), ornamental and historiated woodcut initials, ornamental head-pieces. Folio (343 x 210 mm). [8], 506, [46]ff. Contemporary blind-panelled calf with roll-tooled borders of medallion heads and floral designs, Jesuit device and two small stamps of a lion (added later) within central panel (old rebacking, clasps removed and the leather restored).

First edition of the Vita Christi with the commentary of Jean Dadré (c. 1550-1617), canon of Rouen.Provenance. 17th century ownership inscription of the library of the Order of St. Paul of Thebes, the first Hermit, Lisbon.Single round wormhole through most leaves extending into two holes towards the end of the book; occasional light foxing but generally good condition.Adams L1683.
