Single leaf (182 x 137mm). Illuminated manuscript on parchment. Text in French, in gold, blue and pink, one-line initials in gold on pink and blue grounds, 'KL' initial in same colours enclosing coloured foliage on gold grounds, thin gold and coloured bars on three sides of the text with full borders of single-line rinceaux foliage with gold leaves and seedpods.
Calendar leaf for November, from a Book of Hours, with the names of saints for each day alternating in red, blue and gold; those picked out in gold are St Martin (11th), St Clement (23rd), St. Katherine (25th), and St. Andre' (30th). All Saints' Day - La Toussaint, here la toussains, on 1 November - continues to be a significant holiday in France.
Small stains and minor cockling at edges, particularly lower, otherwise very good condition.
