Illuminated leaf on vellum, a superb miniature with, in the foreground, two skeletal figures highlighted in gold, rising from their graves and holding up the banner with the beginning of Psalm 114, the middle section shows a burial service with 16 or so figures clad in black with a fine church in the background; verso with acanthus leaf panel border in gold and colours, 5 one-line initials and line fillers.
Size of leaf 142 x 103 mm. Three lines of text on recto and 15 lines of verso in a late medieval bastarda script.
From the Office of the Dead introduced by Psalm 114, "Dilexi, quoniam exaudiet Dominus: vocem orationis meae..." (I have loved, because the Lord will hear the voice of my prayer).
