Document on paper (298 x 216mm.). Two folded pages; letter on first page, 13 lines, written in an italic hand. On the final side the letter is addressed: "Al . . . Car. de Carpi legato della marcha".Dated Rome, 29 April 1540.

Cesarini was a lawyer who was attached to the Medici family and was created a Cardinal by Leo X. He fulfilled several missions under the Popes Adrian VI, Clement VII and Paul III; he was also the author of Statuta and Constitutiones.Translation: Although I know that your most Reverend Lordship will endeavour on his own will to appease the people of your province . . . you bear me to intercede on behalf of my servant Verrone with his opponents, this time having learnt that your most Reverend Lordship is currently in Iesi . . . the matter will be easily ended as we desire and furthermore Your most reverend Lordship will do something worthy of Yourself".In large black folder.
