Only edition of this satirical work on statecraft, in which is found one of the earliest uses of the term "statistics". According to Walter Wilcox, the earliest known occurrence of the word is in the 1660 lectures by Hermann Conring, soon to be followed by this publication (see: Encyclopaedia of Social Sciences, 1934, vol. 14, pp. 356-60.
