Printed score of Miroirs Brulants Signed and inscribed ('Pour Madame Brunet en souvenir fidèle / Francis Poulenc / 1940'), also signed by the baritone Pierre Bernac ('et l'humble interprète en respectueux souvenir / P. Bernac').
6 pages folio, n.p., 1940.
Poulenc has boldly and clearly signed the score for his work, a setting of a poem by Paul Eluard, at the top left of the cover. Asked about his favourite interpreters, Poulenc named various singers for individual pieces, but remarked that 'for everything else, Pierre Bernac, of course'.
The score has been slightly trimmed at top and bottom, with minimal loss of text, but not affecting the signatures or inscriptions.
