All seven letters inform the Royal Household of the Duchess of Albany of the date set for the annual Royal Private View of the Exhibition of the Royal Academy. In each, Poynter articulates his hope that the Duchess will be able to attend.

"As I understand that Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Albany has returned to England I write to express a hope on the part of the Council of the Royal Academy & myself that Her Royal Highness will honour us by a visit on the occasion of the Royal Private View on Thursday next, to see the summer exhibition" (28 April 1902).

"I shd have informed Her Royal Highness earlier but that H. M. The King being absent from England, I have only just received His Majesty's wish that the Royal Private View should be held as usual." (28 April 1906).

Another mentions the date for a reception to be given to "His Royal Highness the Prince Fushimi of Japan" "by desire of His Majesty the King."
