A fine, buoyant letter, written on lightweight paper, to his American publisher F.N. Doubleday, addressed here as "Effendim", reporting his removal from Karachi to the airforce base at Miranshah, "a distant little place, to which I have arranged my transfer, for quietness' sake". Lawrence also discusses Doubleday’s new magazine. “By the way ‘Personality’ pleases me more, as it grows older. It had last time an amusing parallel article upon a Railway Manager, and a platelayer-ganger. Very good. We have never, in England, yet written up real people: only public figures, like prime ministers or murderers. I think it’s a very sound plan, of yours.” The full title of Doubleday's venture was Personality: A Magazine of Biography and it wasn't a lasting venture, surviving for 3 volumes published during 1927 and 1928.
