A collection bringing together Kierkegaard's final writings in which he preoccupied himself with a sustained and outright anticlerical critique of the Church of Denmark.

The present edition uses the sheets of the first US edition of the same year with a cancel title page. At the time of publication, rationing was still in place in Britain and books were produced to Book Production War Economy Standards. As such, the publisher has recycled a dust jacket from a different book and printed the Kierkegaard title on the blank verso.
