Burton, who had first learnt the art of falconry in France as a youth, was able to take up the sport once again during his time in the Sind in 1845/1846.
Only 500 copies of this title were printed. However, although still available as late as 1910, Burton was given the satisfaction during his lifetime of seeing this title command a higher price in second-hand catalogues than in the publisher's listing.
