The book is split into four parts, the first being an important essay by Arthur Waugh entitled Charles Dickens and his Illustrators , the second being a bibliographical list of original illustrations to the works of Dickens made under his supervision by Thomas Hatton, the third is a Retrospectus of editions of Dickens and the fourth the Prospectus for the Nonesuch Dickens.
