Life of Admiral Sir Harry Rawson.
[RAWSON, (Admiral Sir Harry Holdsworth)]; RAWSON (Geoffrey)
Photogravure portrait frontispiece and eight half-tone plates, sketches to the text. Publisher's file copy with printed label to the upper board, ink stamp to half title, otherwise very good indeed in the original navy blue combed cloth, gilt. xii, 296pp. 1914
Rawson was Principal Transport Officer in Egypt 1882. He was later Commander-in-Chief on the Cape of Good Hope and West Africa Station and commanded the expedition to M'barack and the capture of Mwèle in 1895, for which he was awarded the 1st Class Brilliant Star of Zanzibar, and the bombardment of the Sultan's Palace, Zanzibar in 1896. Rawson's is perhaps the only substantial published account of the latter incident.
