Woodcut coat-of-arms of the dedicatee, the Duke of Modena, on title, on folio d2 and at end of first work, large publisher's device on title-page of second and third works.

3 works in one.[18]ff. 306pp. [1]f. ; [4]ff. 332pp.[6]ff.; 1 1581

Interesting sammelband which begins with the first edition of a work written by a colonel of the Italian army, Bartolomeo Pelliciari (d. c.1622), with advice addressed firstly to a new soldier, and progressing through the ranks with the final chapters addressed to the general of the whole army. A second edition appeared in 1606.

The second work is the first edition of the commentaries of Joachim Camerarius on the Politicaand Oeconomica of Aristotle, and the final work is Camerarius' Latin translation of Xenophon's Oeconomica, first published in 1564. Camerarius was a very important classical scholar who translated many Greek writers into Latin; he also played an important part in the Reformation movement and his advice was sought by many leading men.
