Two Autograph Letters, three Autograph Cards, one Typed Letter, all but one signed or initialled, to Kenneth Marshall.

FORSTER, (E.M.).

Each piece one page 8vo. London; Abinger; Cambridge. 1934-59

The autograph material dates from 1934-5 and 1940-2. As well as making arrangements for meetings and some rather vague remarks, Forster agrees that he should read Rex Warner's new novel ("I used to write old-fashioned fantasies myself, and perhaps for that reason do not tune up very quickly to the modern ones"). He is saddened that "in the army everyone gets the wrong job. One can only hope that people are equally miscast in Germany and Japan. But I doubt it". In the brief typed letter (1959) he recollects "our meetings in those far gone days of T.E. Lawrence".
