Sequences.

SASSOON, (Siegfried).

Proof copy. 8vo., a fine copy in original brown wrappers, spine lettered by hand. London, Faber and Faber. 1956

Bound without the later dedication to H.M. Tomlinson and the title-page with no decoration. Blunden reviewed "Sequences" in "The Times Literary Supplement" and wrote that "he had been reminded of Sassoon's 1920s sonnet 'At the Grave of Henry Vaughan', because of a 'spiritual affinity' between the twentieth-century poet and the seventeenth-century mystic: 'The impression given [in Sequences] is of a recluse seeking some spiritual light, often under the stars. and of a solitary wayfarer pausing beneath a tree, noting the primrose, riding along the farm track".
