DEVIANTS. Direct Mail Shot on Deviants.[62] DEVIANTS. Direct Mail Shot on Deviants.
Original flyer. 13 x 8”, 1l., printed on one side only, with reproductions of 6 stills of the group from a b&w contact sheet, float mounted, framed and glazed. London, Nems Enterprises, n.d., c. 1969 £135
A trifle creased, old central fold, two pinholes. Rare.
The flyer stresses the very ‘hip’ pedigree of the group and their popularity on the underground circuit of clubs such as Middle Earth. The Fugs, The Doors, The Grateful, Dead and Airplane are invoked, the guitarist is compared to Hendrix and Mick Farren is said to have “...as much presence as any lead singer on the scene...” . An interesting item if only for the beautifully staged photography.

[SEX PISTOLS.]. REID (Jamie) & VARNOM (John). Never Mind The Bollocks Here’s The Sex Pistols.[63] [SEX PISTOLS.]. REID (Jamie) & VARNOM (John). Never Mind The Bollocks Here’s The Sex Pistols.

Slight edge ceasing, a crisp, clean copy. Scarce. Satellite p-84. “Promotional poster produced shortly after the release of Never Mind The Bollocks”.
Arranged as a series of photographic vignettes for each of the 11 songs including the now archetypal defaced Beaton portrait produced for ‘God Save The Queen’ and the ripped flag of ‘Anarchy in The U.K.’.

Slight creasing on bottom right hand corner.
The top half of flyer is set out with an illustration of the Sex Pistols on television with Muhammed Ali.
This was designed to promote the Pistols Tuesday night residency at the 100 Club, where they headlined with support provided by Ted Carroll’s ‘Rock On Disco’, Teenage Jesus and the Jerks, the Stooges and the New York Dolls.

Its Anarchy In The U.K. starring the Sex Pistols. The Damned. From the U.S.A. Johnnny Thunders Heartbreakers and the Clash. Kings Hall Derby, December 4th.
Original poster. 52 x 77.5 cm., printed in black, horror show green and red on white. Conservation framed and glazed. N.p., n.p., 1976. £700
Slightly creased a few small closed. tears. Crisp, clean copy of a rare poster. Satellite p-85.
Nobody knows who designed this poster for a gig that was cancelled by Derby council after the Pistols refused to allow the local worthies to sample their morality by the medium of a preview performance. The poster depicts a wild eyed John Lydon in his Rotten persona. An evocative poster that is a document of a very interesting moment of solidarity in punk history when The Clash and The Heartbreakers pulled out of the gig in support of the Pistols.

[ZAPPA (Francis “Frank”).]. IMAMURA (Yoshi). Original glossy black and white photographic portrait of Frank Zappa[66] [ZAPPA (Francis “Frank”).]. IMAMURA (Yoshi). Original glossy black and white photographic portrait of Frank Zappa, 38.2 x 30.5 cm., signed by the photographer, dated and inscribed on reverse. N.p., [London], 1977. £200
Very good condition.
Zappa is depicted in a fish eye view in a sitting room smoking a cigarette and drinking coffee with another man. A beautiful cloud of smoke has risen to the light source above him.

[ZAPPA (Francis Vincent “Frank”).]. IMAMURA (Yoshi). Three original large, glossy black and white photographs in a series produced for an unidentified book or magazine,[67] [ZAPPA (Francis Vincent “Frank”).]. IMAMURA (Yoshi). Three original large, glossy black and white photographs in a series produced for an unidentified book or magazine,
approximately 38.2 x 30.5, signed by the photographer in felt pen, with annotations and date on rectos. N.p. [London], 1977. £300
2 & 3 in very good condition, 1 a bit marked.
From scattered references on the web Imamura is well regarded for his use of experimental camera technology. Not long after these photos were taken he appeared in a German camera magazine called Zoom, kishin Shinoyama appeared in the same issue.
In the first picture in the series, shot with a fish eye lens, Zappa reclines in a large overstuffed armchair. In the second he holds a box of Ex-Lax up to the camera and narrates into a microphone. The third shows him in the same chair from the viewpoint of his right shoe.
