The 59th London International Antiquarian Book Fair

We are happy to announce that Maggs Bros will be exhibiting this year at the 59th London International Antiquarian Book Fair at Kensington Olympia.

Taking place from 26th to 28th May, this major book trade gathering will feature 180 exhibitors from around the world, and is an opportunity to see and touch some of the best and most fascinating items the book trade has to offer, as well as speaking with experts and professionals from all fields. Alongside the main exhibition many live events will be running. These include at 2pm on Saturday, a guided tour of the fair from our own Ben Maggs and Alice Rowell. This tour, titled ‘Books should be seen and not read’, will discuss the Book Beautiful versus the Book Practical, focusing on book use and ownership, bibliomania and fine bindings, with illustrative examples chosen from books on display at the fair.
