Crouch often published work under the pseudonym Richard or Robert Burton. As a publisher and compiler he had a prodigious output, and this little compendium was printed in at least four editions. It deals firstly with Guinea, then St. Helena, with a short description of Saldana Bay, west of the Cape of Good Hope, however his description of the East Indies becomes much more sketchy and loose. Ten pages of the text relate to the Table Valley in South Africa before the Dutch occupation of 1652. Theal, p322.
