?First edition (copyright date 1888) of this interesting account of a trip undertaken from India to Aleppo. Locher travelled in the caravan of the French attaché who intended to purchase thoroughbred Arab horses for Napoleon III. Their journey took them to Muscat, Kuwait, Aleppo and Baghdad, all of which the author explored in detail devoting at the very least one chapter to each.
