Some highly detailed pencilled notes in the section on "Species and Breeds", with a couple of rather charming illustrative sketches of camels, also a ?near contemporary loose original photograph of a camel inserted.In the Army List of 1895 Leonard is described as a Brevet Major on the Reserve of Officers. He had seen action in the Second Afghan War, actions of Ahmed Khel and Urzoo; the Egyptian Expedition 1882-4; Soudan in 1884, battles of el Teb and Tamai; and on the Nile Expedition of 1884-5, in all these campaigns being involved in Transport Duties.Armorial bookplate of Admiral W.H.
