In a cream dust wrapper with red lettering and navy blue wood cut engraving of a Victorian couple standing on a book and staring at an eclipsed sun. With cream wrappers. Some foxing to the end papers, and rusting to the binding staple and so browning to the outer spine and to some extent the inside of the book.

The subtitle reads: Containing a useful record of the most indispensable laws which regulate the manner and behaviour of polished society, including maxims, prescriptive of the correct conduct at parties, the dinner table & on other occasions of domestic or social intercourse, selected from various old handbooks, once much favoured by the supporters of progress & refinement.
