First edition. 11 double-page colour woodblock plates. Complete. 8vo. Original boards with printed title-slip. Marginal rodent damage to lower left corner, but overall still a very good copy. Tokyo, Kinokuniya Genbei, dated: Meiji 3, i.e. 

This small atlas of the world is one of the earliest printed after the Meiji Restoration. Hashimoto Gyokuran (1807-?) is better known as the Ukiyo-e print artist Utagawa Sadahide. He used this particular artistic name for topics showing foreigners and foreign settlements in Yokohama and Tokyo. Not in Kerlen; Yokohama City University.
